Blue Bead Lily - Poisonous berry




Perennial. Up to 40 cm tall, usually in patches.

Flowers: Greenish yellow, bell shaped in loose clusters of 2 to 8 flower on tip of single leafless stalk. Blossoms summer.

Fruit: Bead like berries; blue and dark and shiny forms in clusters. Ripens August.

Habitat: All moisture regimes, soil and stand types.

Berries are poisonous. Aboriginal peoples used the leaves as plaster for bruises and sores.
